Our ambassadors are deeply connected with nature and express their passion through the adventures they undertake and the designs they love. Today, we want to tell you more about ambassador Rafa Godoi, an artist, mentor, and storyteller whose life journey perfectly embodies our ethos of adventure, creativity, and environmental appreciation.

Rafa’s love for the outdoors began early in life, deeply rooted in his upbringing in the lush jungles of Brazil. Raised in a family that thrived in a rural, nature-centric lifestyle, Rafa’s childhood was marked by exploration and adventure. “Growing up, we were always outside at the farm, playing in the rivers, trails, and lakes,” Rafa recalls. His days were filled with climbing trees, feeding monkeys, and immersing himself in the natural world—a formative experience that has shaped his lifelong passion for the outdoors.

For Rafa, spending time in nature is akin to hitting a “reset button.” He finds that being in the wilderness not only reduces stress but also enhances his mental and physical well-being. It’s a practice that brings joy and fulfillment, reminding him of life’s simple pleasures and the importance of grounding oneself in the natural world.

Water holds a special place in Rafa’s heart, symbolizing his profound connection to nature. Whether it’s the flow of a river or the crashing waves of the ocean, the presence of water instantly connects him to the natural world. This connection is a constant source of inspiration and grounding in his life. And this summer, Rafa is excited about paddle boarding in remote locations, exploring waterfalls, and alpine lakes that are off the beaten path. These activities promise fresh perspectives and unique experiences, continuing his tradition of setting new goals and embracing the wonders of the natural world.

Although Rafa has explored many corners of the world, his travel bucket list remains full of exciting destinations. Patagonia’s breathtaking landscapes and Thailand’s stunning beaches and ancient ruins are high on his list. These places promise new adventures and experiences, continuing his journey of discovering and connecting with diverse natural environments.

To Rafa, being a part of the Slow Loris community is about engaging with a community of like-minded outdoor enthusiasts and supporting a company that values creativity, environmental consciousness, and small businesses. He appreciates our commitment to designing art from scratch while staying socially and environmentally responsible. He feels a special connection with the Road Trip collection, which reflects his love for spontaneous adventures and the joy of road trips with good music. The Adventure Mobiles and the Dog is My Copilot designs evoke nostalgic memories of his childhood travels with family, capturing the essence of his outdoor experiences. The Hiking Tortoise and Dragonfly designs remind him of the small yet profound moments in nature.

Rafa’s advice for deepening one’s connection with nature is simple yet profound: “Take time to disconnect from the busy life and embrace quality time in nature. Challenge yourself with new trails and experiences, and remember that less is more. Nature’s beauty is best appreciated when we are fully present, without the distraction of technology.”

In today’s tech-centric world, Rafa finds it crucial to strike a balance between technology and nature. He advocates for minimizing gadget use and focusing on the natural environment. “True engagement with nature happens when we turn off our devices and immerse ourselves in the sensory experience of the outdoors,” he says. For Rafa, it’s all about finding that perfect balance and fully living in the moment.
